Contemporary Architects in Thailand

Gratitude to My Past. A Talk by Mathar Bunnag

One solid night at Wat Si Chum, Sukhothai
…plenty of glittering stars…
I met my ancestor –
before he left, he said to me;

“here is my secret,
if I am always in your feeling
and thinking,
you will never be yourself,
you shall never be able
to bring new things into the world.

Only when I am your inspirations
and prides, then and then,

you shall be free from me.
You shall be yourself, blissful.”
